Spring ... Winter Wonderland?

This morning we woke up to 8 inches of snow here in Eugene!! I flew in from Texas just in time (any later and I wouldn't have been able to get home). Below was our view down the street.

It was a good excuse to stay home all day, not that we could help it. We lounged in the hot tub, took a walk around the neighborhood in our Muk boots (fabulous!), saw lots of downed trees and branches, but generally took it easy and laid off of work. What a fabulous day!

  1. Probably a bit different than Texas weather, huh Carol? Your photo is beautiful! It's been trying to snow here in my little town in Washington state, but it hasn't stuck. My sister lives in Lake Oswego, OR and says it stuck a little bit there today. I'll bet Jacob is having a great time in it. I hope your hot tub is outside. What fun that would be in the snow.

  5. And yesterday I was wearing flipflops and a skirt up here in the great white north - the weather is weird this year! We really didn't have winter this year.

    1. That's exactly what I was going to say - I'm in New England too and we didn't have ANY days that looked that this winter!

  7. Wow . . . beautiful! Here in Atlanta, GA we have been having early June weather . . . temps in mid to high 80s, everything is blooming, even the dogwoods that don't normally bloom until May (Dogwood Festival, trees will be all green) . . . though today, we are overcast, expecting rain and much cooler . . .

  9. Oh wow! Glad you can enjoy that. We're on our 5th day of "summer" here in Maine and want it to continue. Snow would be VERY depressing.

  12. It's so beautiful! It would make a beautiful plein air painting, but your paint might freeze. And so might your toes.

  15. Beautiful sight! It makes our snowfall here in February look like a dusting of talcum powder! And all us UK plein air painters made the most of what little bit there was! :-)
